These knives are simply a wonderful pleasure to own, use and maintain. The CSC built KA-BAR branded knives came clean and ready to go with just a touch up on the edges. The CSC Sunset Smooth Bone Pinch Lock Back came gritty and needed a flush and cleaning ... twice. Once done, it also performs as flawlessly as the other two. The action is smooth and fluid on all blades. Pull is great. No nail breakers here. Not even close. Just right. Don't even have to use the nail nick on the Lock Backs.

The pictures don't quite do them justice. The knives are down right beautiful and that's great and all but on a more esoteric note, the Lock Backs are well balanced and have great "hand". The Barlow is a capable chunky nugget. There are no disappointments. The Lock Backs are in D2 steel and the Barlow is 14-4 CrMO. Hard to beat at their price points too.

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about these knives and will let the pictures speak for themselves ...

Thank you Bob !!! I am most please with them. CSC doesn't do many patterns but the ones they do are done quite well.

I don't have a lot of experience with CSC other than the Eric's Jack that came out last year. They came out fantastic with some really nice Sambar Stag scales. Overall very good quality. Enjoy Jim. :D

I have never been disappointed with any CSC knife that I purchased. Fit & finish always excellent and they come sharp and ready to use.
As others have mentioned just wish they would offer more patterns

I'm a big fan of Canal Street Cutlery as well. Haven't been disappointed by one yet! :) Here is a picture of my newest one but it has been slightly modified. It is the perfect barlow now in my opinion.

Great looking knives. Those copper barlows are growing on me...

I have lusted after those copper bolstered Kabars but not bought one yet. I didn't know they were made by Canal Street.

Very nice little herd you have there. :D I am wanting one of those lock backs. Do you intend to let the copper form a natural patina? Personally it's my favorite aspect of the series.

I also think the patina the copper takes on is the best part and yours is looking better every time I see it Brian!

Only way to go is natural and of course I will let the copper patina with use. The Barlow I have is flawless. It's a very well put together Barlow.

Schwing!

Now I "need" this one too!

Thanks - Eric

(Didn't know CS made these - awesome news.)

Here is a picture of my 2 blade coppersmith barlow I took last summer. Need to get an updated picture of this one. Patina changes almost daily on these things.

Here are a couple CSC's I've let go.

I like the patina these knives form as well; this one was already forming a nice patina when I bought it out of the display case at a gunshop last fall. OH

Canal Street doesn't get the attention they deserve, some of the finest production knives you can buy. At least in my never humble opinion.:)

Very nice pictures, I wonder why they don't make more things with copper, it's my favorite!

Beautiful knives, Jim. Glad you got three good ones!

Regarding the smooth bone pinch lockback, what is the blade length (as measured from the end of the bolster to the tip of the blade)? This info is not provided on the CSC product page. Also, the pinch lockback blade has a “Polished Mark Side Blade Finish” per CSC, but what kind of finish does the pile side have? (Sorry, I’m not familiar with CSC knives!)

Thank you cairndude !!!

I measured the length of the blade from the bolster to the tip as just about dead on 3 inches.

NOW I remember reading "Polished Mark Side Blade Finish", but hadn't noticed a difference and had to look again. The mark side is polished and the pile side is satin but they look virtually the same to a casual eye unless you're looking for it and then it's obvious. The sides even feel close to the same. There is no noticeable difference in texture unless you seriously feel for it. There is not enough difference between the sides for me to have noticed anything until you mentioned it and I remembered reading that description. I bet if you had the where with all and desire to do it, the pile side could be easily polished. I'm very happy with it the way that it is ... but yes, now that you mention it ... there is a difference Lol.

EDIT: So THEN, I had to look at my KABAR Coppersmith Pinch Lock Back to see if the blade sides were different ... both sides are polished.
