Well, maybe this should be in W&C, since it qualifies as a whine, but I'll try to keep it clean. The family is traveling early tomorrow, and I was hoping to take the new Blade with me, as I have been reading a few things about it in one of the General forums. But nooooooooooo! As usual, people on Bladeforums have been talking about this before I get the magazine, and it certainly hits the stands before I receive it. So I called the 800 number and cancelled my subscritption and asked for the remainder of my money to be refunded. The folks there were very polite, but uninterested, and agreed. OK, no sweat. I realize that the floks that I spoke to were a prining company, and not the magazine itself--and thus- don't care at all. Well, if I want to read something in Blade, I'll pick up a copy at the newsstand.

For what its worth, I just got mine today. :)

Funny you should mention this, because I finally broke down a few days ago and buoght a subscription. I decided after buying it almost monthly for years, I could save a lot of money by getting a subscription.

I buy it every few months or so. It's difficult to find here; there is only one place in town that I know that sells it (and I'm one of maybe three people who buy it! The woman who works there is the wife of one of my coworkers though, so it makes sense to her why I buy it; other people seem to think it's a strange choice of magazines for a woman to buy, especially when I also pick up Discover and Glamour at the same time!) I don't want a subscription though because I only buy it if there is something in there that looks interesting and that I can't find out here or online! ;)

Im lucky if i can find a new issue where i live once every 2 or three months. It seems the store puts out how ever many they get then will not put out any more until all of them are sold even when its months old. :grumpy:

We seem to get them before anywhere else. Just down the road is the somewhat famous Cope's Newsstand, and somehow we at little ol' Food Lion get the new Blade even before they do. So it's gonna be hard now to keep myself from reading it at work when I know that it's on its way to my house. But I can wait... we still get Knives Illustrated and Tactical Knives before anyone else too, so I can read those and wait for Blade.

I realized after finding a few issues from late '96 that it would save me a lot of money to buy a subscription.

Somehow, I let my subscription lapse recently. They have been calling me and offering me a good price, but I have been holding off. I got a subscription offer in the mail yesterday, and it wasn't as good as the phone offer. Later in the evening, they called me back and I went ahead and took them up on their offer.

I ended up doing similar with TK mag because of delivery problems. I put up with it for about two years and finally gave up.

Gonna move this to TGB&U. Seems more appropriate than in Community.
