Got here yesterday, props' again to Spyderco for not only a great knife, but raising awareness and money to fight Breast Cancer.:thumbup::thumbup:

A good friend recently lost his 35 year old daughter to Breast Cancer, so I'll gladly carry this one for the month of October which is Breast Cancer awareness month, in her honor.

Sure does "stand out" from a regular Native! :D

Mine's shipping from my Phavorite Pharmacy on Monday. One more for my daughter's collection (that Joyce and Sal started  ).

This thread just sealed the deal... I have one on the way from Warriors and Wonders in Canada. I have lost one person close to me at 26 years of age to breast cancer, and my girlfriends mother has been through it twice and survived. Hopefully my GF will respect this knife (unlike most of my other purchases!) and carry it herself, it is for her. Kudos to Spyderco for this one.

My wife came when I said there was a Spyderco to honor cancer suvivors etc.
She said to thank you.
She wondered how long men would carry a pink knife , as opposed to one that had a small ribbon engraved on the blade or another metal part ?
Most do not get involved with this unless necessary.
My wife started with breast cancer, made it almost five years. Errant cells moved from the lymph nodes to her lung. That was put to bed for about two years. Next on a full body scan she had a turmor on the cerabellum ( Back of brain) Surgery , and The Cyber Knife at Stanford. She is a tough lady. Again her tumor marker rose to 110, 39 is normal. By this time a new drug had come on the scene " TIKERB " . It brought the marker down to 50. She has a small area above the eye orbit and to make sure they will remove it with The Cyber Knife.
I write this to give you an idea how survivors live. She works 20Hrs a week to be with friends , and to not have to sit around the home and think about this.
The effort made by a cottage industry to help and acknowledge makes a difference.
No you can not have a cyberknife but you can google it and look at a really cool invention . It can be used on any part of the body ( Guys ) .

Be well

Cancer awareness projects have always been very important to me since my cousin, who was a year younger than me, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1997. She passed on in 2000 at the age of seven. My order for one of these Natives, an excellent knife now with an excellent cause, is being processed.

If anyone is more interested in cancer awareness or volunteering, my aunt started a nonprofit organization called Caitlin's Smiles based in Pennsylvania in my cousin's memory. The website is www.caitlins-smiles.org. It's an excellent cause, and I thought I'd use this opportunity to help spread the word here. It is continually expanding, and she has met President Bush twice as a result.

Great knife, great idea, and thank you!

God bless.
