Cancer sucks!

They are making great progress in treatment with more to come on the horizon ( they think they just found the mechanism for "turning off" cancer cells.
Prayers and good wishes for your friend and for all those battling cancer, and those that care about them and for them.

Very sorry to hear about your friend. I will be sending positive thoughts and prayers for good diagnosis and any necessary treatments

My 85 year old dad was diagnosed and successfully treated for throat cancer in 2014. The treatment sucked (I cannot emphasize this enough!), but was 100% successful and he is still alive and healthy. I wish you and your friend all the best. Cancer does suck, but the treatments that are available today can work wonders.

This was my family's experience, too: treatment sucks, but results good. My aunt was treated for throat cancer at about age 85 and will be 92 in a few months. A cousin was treated last year age 72 and also cured.

Thank you all for your support. I spoke to him yesterday and hes up for screening as well as chemo next week. Not too optimistic yet but hopefully this is all they find.
Thank you
Knut

That's awful. Just got out of the hospital and found out I'm on my second go-round with lymphoma. Luckily my odds are good. My heart goes out to those with harder battles and those who have lost them.

I figured I owe you guys an update on this:
To use mr Hs' own words:" Valhalla can wait"
They removed a big lump of canceroud tissue in in his throat aswell as both tonsils, one of which proved to contain cancerous tissue. Nothing else was found during his screening so its looking good apart from an upcoming run of chemo and radiation.
We went hunting together last week and he is fit and motivated for the coming battle.

He doesnt frequent bladeforums but he wishes to thank you all for your support and care.
Knut
