Cancer tests

This is from experience. My wife had breast cancer five years ago. We thought it was over but just before christmas it manifested in the lung next to the same breast. First devistation, then disbelief. I was mentally worse the second time around. WE got her to immediate care and with the grace of god the tumor markers are at a normal level . She had a port put in her chest to be able to have weekly chemo treatment that did not have pain association.
She takes Navelbien and Herceptin, and I give her injections of nupogen to build her white count for her immune system.
Remove as much stress from her life as possible, if she works and wants, let her continue. She needs a social life and a way to put this to bed during the day .Staying at home with you does not help her healing.Let the Oncologist do his job, they are very specialized and know there work very well. Take some time to get your arms around this and say a word to your god if you have one. Reach out to family and ASK for their help , it will come and friends will help you ,but ask. You can not do this by your self ! There are many other things I could say but if you need an ear from a husband of a Cancer Patient drop me a note or I will make my number available to you. Do not sit back and do nothing, you must go to work to get a break. Again ask for help and it will come.

Be well

I'd thought I'd posted to this earlier...I didn't.

My heart felt best wishes and prayers for you and your wife.

I fully agree with FWO.
I have had it myself. Sometimes it was harder on the people around me than it was on me.
My hospital let me use a laptop wit internetacces. That helped me pass the time and it was my way of 'getting out'.
And winegums, if she likes sweets bring her soft sweets. I know that it sounds silly, but while laying there, that was something I realy appreciated.

Many prayers and hopes to both of you. I have been with family members with both outcomes of testing. Hold hands and each other and may God be with.
