Here are two Cane Masters canes purchased from Mark Shuey when he first started out back in 2000 or so. At that time, these were his standard Street Canes, these are both in hickory heartwood which I think was his premium wood offering at that time. I ordered these fully profiled but unfinished and I did the final sanding and finishing myself. I believe I used linspeed for the final finish. There are few marks on each from storage, but this can be easily touched up with either tru oil or linspeed.
These have been hanging in my closet since that time. Both of these started life as a round profile cane, but on one of them I carefully re-profiled the lower 24 inches into a right angle, creating a bit of a sword edge. This was done with a small plane and a cabinet scraper and the lines are straight and quite well done if I do say so myself…
If you ever considered buying a walking cane that will allow you to take a self-defense weapon into any NPE environment, these would be perfect for you. These are both approximately 37.25 inches in overall length, one of them will come with a rubber tip.
