ron55 ron55 ¿how well does the compass function on the Böker Louis & Clark?
Do the blades have to be open for it to give an accurare (or semi accurate, as the case may be) reading?
Good looking fleet you have there.

Thanks - My compass doesn't function at all. Either the needle is stuck or it is just meant to be a decoration. But the needle doesn't move

A little early for the July canoe of the month - but I couldn't resist this Fight'n Rooster

I don't recall ever seeing a canoe with both blades on the same end of the knife, and both blades full-sized. Really cool variation!!:thumbsup::cool:

I haven’t either, but saw the same knife described as a canoe trapper on All About Pocket knives

I’m sure I’ve said it in the other canoe threads, so I’ll say it here too: Queen had the finest production-made canoe. Great pocket worry stones, with the tangs all flush and smooth. Single spring like the Case used to be. Like any Queen models produced in the waning years, any given example might have had some wonky thick blade grinds, but the pattern itself had everything right.

I don’t own any canoe patterns, I’ve always been thrown off by the bolster shaping thinking it would create a hot spot when holding. These in this thread actually look comfortable in the hand, I’m assuming many of you who collect them enjoy the hand feel?

Very comfy in hand.
I'm not sure about the "butter bean" size and smaller though.
