Hey

I need to get myself a new edc on the cheap. But I cant decide between the rat model 1 or the kershaw cyro. Ive been looking at reviews for both knives but I was hoping someone who own one or both could give me their thoughts. I know these are old models but theyre still great cheap options in my opinion...If you have any other suggestions Id be willing to consider them

Thanks

I need to preface my comment by saying I do not own either knife you mentioned. I have been looking at the cryo myself for quite a while, the holdup that keeps me from pulling the trigger is weight. For whatever reason it seems heavy compared to some alternatives in that price range. Some alternate suggestions might be a Kershaw Skyline, Cold Steel Voyager, or if you are in the market for a frame lock the Kershaw Scamp is pretty amazing for the price and should be in the same blade class as the cryo. If you decide on the cryo then I would suggest buying a blem from the kershaw guy.

Hope it helps,

I just bought a Zing Tanto Black Blade 1735TBLK Limited Ed. from Kershaw guy. It is still on the inexpensive side, but made in the USA. Great knife! I don't even notice it in my pocket. It is smaller than my EDC Blur, but good quality. Another option would be a Leek or Blur from the blem list.

Kershaw's speedsafe knives are a good choice . Like Monofletch I own the Zing and have had the Leek. You won't be disappointed.

i got the cryo two minths ago and i was sorowly unipressed by it. There is a lot of hype around the knife that it is a hiderer design but it is very poor quality. first off you must choose to sacrifice between the blade flicking open or good blade centering/blade play. Also, my torsion bar just broke the other day, and it is completely unsafe and garbage as a manual.

I have got so used to thumb holes that if it were me I would get the Spyderco tenacious?

My cryo has some Sharp edges but other than that Is great. Another option Is the kershaw tremmor If you want a bigger knife.
