Cant do a search on the forum

I was trying to search on the forum and was denied access to the search engine. Is this a new feature? Is the search engine not for basic members anymore?
 
I'm not sure, I thought it was open to all members. What is it you were looking for, I'll see if I can help.
 
I was trying to find some info on bolsters and hand guards. I'll need to learn how to make these. Are these difficult to shape? Do you just get the precast kind from a knife supply?

I'll try the search again......
