Well..... I made it 4 days :D joking aside, I have excuses, up to you whether or not they're good ones.
Don't they always say "learn from your mistakes"?
I can't do it with that knife.
I just can't. There's something about that knife that just doesn't want to be used.
I can't bring myself to use it for anything because I like it so damn much.
Any scratch that would appear didn't get me happy at all.
I fully understand that its not a "special" knife, or rare, or even that expensive. But......no. Say what you will.
That's reason #1.

Reason #2-- I'm scared to lose it.
I'm a pretty active guy. Not a moment in my life is spent wasted unless its really late at night.
Yesterday I spent 4 hours 4-wheeling, and today 2 hours on a snowmobile.
All of that time was spent without my knife. I was scared to lose it, and also scared it would be damaged by other stuff in my pocket, had it been put there.
So it stayed in my home, or my truck the whole time anyways. Went knifeless for the first 2 times in god knows how long.

And finally, the lesser of the 3 reasons,
I've been posting update pictures in my other thread by mistake :D

BUT, the challenge is still on.
I was originally going to chose my CX anyways.
And this guy has a clip, so there's no reason it can't tag-along through my more "active" hobbies with less fear of losing it.
Hope you guys understand, (those of you who were attempting it with me).
Here it is. Day 1 will commence when I wake up. 2/11/17
Same as before, random periodical updates.

Heck yeah,. Just bought a mini cqc7 a version from another forum member and should arrive Thursday. Recently bought a regular mini 7 and loved everything about it except tanto and chisel grind. Don't mind chisel edge cause I can fix that. So I'm planning on it being my THE ONE! LOL. Cause it'll have v grind and drop point. I'll do it for a yr with u. Lol

I am planning on picking up a Steel Will D2 Cutjack, I think it is the one but I haven't held one yet. If it is I'll join you.

I've been carrying my ZT0452CF every day for 3 weeks while my Super CQC-8 (EDC for years) gets re-ground to a zero edge by Razor Edge Knives.

Do you want us to join you in carrying a ZT0450 as EDC or just with weekly updates of your EDC?

The 0450 is a perfect choice for single knife carry, great for edc but still enough of a good looker for dress and plenty strong for use outdoors or in the field. Good luck, don't think I could choose just one for a year. Lol.

Join me with whatever you want to carry for a year!

Great choice. And seriously, let every scratch and ding be a badge of honor. It was a hard lesson for me to learn and I still am not all there yet. But I had a serious obsession with keeping knives in perfect condition. I have probably sent more knives back to their respective factories for blemishes than actual functional issue. Sometimes even taking a less functioning knife in favor of one that was prettier. Don't follow in my path and just use the crap out of them. You develop an appreciation for it quickly

Subscribed to this this will be fun to follow. I'd like to try this but I can't keep the same knife on me for a week LOL.

Good choice on the zt0450, one of my favorites. In my top 5 folders list easily. I wish i could join ya, but way too much cool stuff coming out this year. Good luck though, ill check in to check out the pics!

If I had to pick one I'd probably pick my 0801. I do like the 0452 and 0450, but I don't think I'd want for anything with the 0801. It is more confidence inspiring to me because it fits my hand and handles tasks better. Blade shape and tip work better for me. I'd love to get a BRZ.

This will be fun and I wish you luck. I carry 2 knives everyday. One of them has been a ZT0456 and this march will make it a year straight. For me with the 0456 it was easy. I will be interested to see your thoughts as the year goes on!

Im affraid i will not be joining you for a year. I couldnt do it. But i will support you by carrying my 0450 for a while :p

Subscribing. I'm going to bladehq tomorrow to pick something up. I'm thinking a Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2. As soon as I decide, I'll post a pick and join you on the journey.

For one year? Why?
A couple reasons, actually.
Number one-
I LOVE the look of well used knives and don't really have any. I feel as though a year is sufficient.

Number two-
I used to only carry one knife, and quite frankly grew close to it. Never made it a year though. And constantly changing my EDC doesn't really "pair" the knife with me.

Number three, the main reason- One of my buddies also carries knives. He has been carrying a Benchmade Adamas every day since July last year. He more or less told me I couldn't, and that was a big challenge to me.

I think it's an awesome challenge and I'll be following with interest, but with all the new hotness that dropped at SHOT? I don't think I could even come close to that challenge. Hell my amazing and brilliant (though impatient) fiancée already revealed to me that my Valentines present was a preorder for the Spyderco Police 4, so I obviously have to carry that beast immediately once it comes in. :)

Not to scoff at your challenge (for which I think you have picked a great knife) but I think most sak users would smile at this.
I think I could live with the 0450 as well, the real challenge would be not to buy another knife during this year. ;l

I think you made a good choice with the 0450. I received one as a gift for Christmas and have been very happy with it so far.

I'll join you. Like you, I also like the look of a well used knife. And I really don't have any. I'll be carrying my D2 Mini Grip with AWT scales.
