Can't find a new knife to get!!

Yes! Emerson 7 and you're done. On to the next thing on the list.
Wouldn't recommend it. Liner locks are already fast wearing(compared to thicker framelocks) because of how thin they usually are. Add that to the fact that titanium is softer than stainless and you've got a lock that will get eaten up by the blade. Also, waving a knife open typically slams the blade against the liner pretty hard, typically leading to a "sticky" lock when the knife is new.

Plus, I'm not a fan of the chisel grind. Contrary to popular belief, it actually makes sharpening more complicated due to the necessity of having to remove the burr without actually touching the flat side with your stone. Besides which, the chisel is on the wrong side:thumbdn:.

Why not get the one that started it all? Especially with a wave feature.

This^

Simply the epitome of tanto folders.

They are great working tools, if you would rather have a frilly wall decoration look elsewhere, always best to listen to owners of an item when looking for reviews, I own a few Emersons, none have failed me yet, they are easier to sharpen than many other knives, and they are very sturdy. My A100 has split wood, been used as a chisel for a lockset, pried wire conduit from a wall, cut CAT5e cable many many times, and has cut more rope than some people on this forum will ever touch. That said none of my Emersons are pretty in the normal way. My A100 is scratched up, the edge has been reprofiled twice, the handles are crusted with crap, and the once black hardware is mostly worn down to silver, but I have never had a problem with it, and to this day 90% of problems people have are from nit pickers looking for imperfections, not failures of the knives, and I'd wager the same percentage never contacted EKI with their "issue". Their customer service was very friendly when I called about a pocket clip, they are the equals of the good people at Spyderco in my experience, very friendly.

Simply put, Emersons work. In my opinion there is great value in that.

Feel free to tear the post apart if you hate Emersons, or know some guy, who's second cousins nephew had one close on his finger when he was covertly deanimating masked ninja centurions. I'm done trying to spread reasonable opinions after a large amount of hands on use.

Best of luck OP, all the suggestions in the thread are solid knives, the Benchmade tanto is well worth the cost too, great knife! Just don't buy a SOG Trident Tanto, the AUS8 they use is almost never hard enough.
