I'm new here so hello everyone. This forum is nice, but it's missing one thing. Ads. I think the owners should consider having ads instead of making members pay to get features that almost every other board has.

Welcome to BF. You don't have to pay, that's up to you. Granted, a few features are based on membership but let's face it, membership has privileges. I belong to a few totally free sites and get tired of a ton of ads and glowing signs all over the place. I don't like popups and other crap that comes to being reliant on ads. To me, this site is worth $2.08 a month.

Welcome! Like the others have said, I'm happy to pay for a membership to keep this place ad-free. Even the price of a Platinum Membership is a cheap price to pay for the amount of information one can glean here. I've saved enough on bad decisions avoided to pay my membership fees for another two years.

Part of why I like this place so much is the lack of "distractions" (re: "ads".) I've said before, this is the only place I'll let my son sit with me and look at pictures of knives, dogs, etc.

Aftcomet, I respect your suggestion, but I'll gladly pay to keep this place ad-free. $25. for a Gold membership is cheap.

Can't help but notice you need welcoming, but that being said, the rest of us (IMHO) don't want the stinking ads. We don't put up with spammers either. This site is for the enjoyment and fellowship of knife makers and collectors. I for one would pay double the cost to keep the ads gone.

I would pay double what I pay now to keep the adds away. That was the main thing that brought me to BF over the other knife forums before I knew any better.
