When I try to insert an image by copying the url in the box i get this message: "error, invalid file"... I've posted many pics before using the same method, and never had any trouble until today. I usually use photobucket or flickr. Is there something wrong with my BF settings and how the heck do I fix this... thanks

Looks like it's just you. Yikes. I don't know what to tell you.

The easiest option is to upload them to the web, copy the link and place it inside of image tags, like this:

takes a little practice, but you can get the hang of it.

He said he usually uses Photobucket or Flickr, so I assumed that was what he was trying to do and it wasn't working for him. Guess we'll just have to wait til he responds.

That's exactly what I tryd to do.... I just get an error message which is weird because I've been uploading pics the same way for a year now and it's never given me any trouble until now...

Well, obviously it's something on your end. Have you tried clearing your cookies?

Rev is a computer tech guy, so he knows more than me about this stuff. Take it away, bud.

Which box? Are you actually typing the IMG tags manually and inserting the copied link between them into the post's general text field, or are you clicking the image icon in the toolbar and inserting the link there? Try both methods and report back. And I know it sounds silly, but make double sure that your link is actually active and legit. Try to view by copying your link into a regular browser URL field and see what happens.

I'm using the image icon and copying the link from flickr... I will try deleting my cookies and typing the image in manually, and then report back... Thanks

I tried deleting my coookies and typing in IMG file manually, nothing works... I can only attach them like this, but I cant link them. Ive eventried linking pics that ive actually linked in the past and they've worked, but now they dont???

And yet, my post @2 up there still has the image, doing exactly the same thing. That's just weird.

For those that use photobucket, the 4th link is the one you want. Don't use the control panel, it's easier to just type out the image tags on your own and past the link within. If you quote Samael's post, look at the way his image is formatted, that is the way it should work. For the record, the screen that asks you for a link has never worked for since the forum upgrade a while back. I used to use imageshack, but then switched to www.imgur.com for imagehosting, works better for me.

starting a few days ago my pictures i try to put on the forum are small. Yes i've been to faq, settings, anywhere i could think of.I know i'm not real brite sometimes but it always worked before.I'm not saying it's this forum. i totally like this forum. I just want to be able to post full size pics. I go thru photobucket. Any help for this computer illiterate would be greatly appreciated. thank you
