Can't post using iPad

I'm a new member who is unable to type posts on my iPad. All seems ok until I'm ready to input a post or reply into the box... the keyboard never appears. It works fine when using my iPhone, but not the iPad. Is there something simple that I'm doing incorrectly? Is this a known problem? Suggestions?
