Recommendation? Can't return Knives to USA?

When was the last time any Canadians shipped a knife to the US? Just curious. BTW, thank you guys for all the help above.

The issue I was told was with US Customs not Canada apparently. Apparently US Customs classify knives as weapons, and I cannot ship weapons to the US. Maybe it was bad information from Canada post... but that is what they told me. US Customs says shipping knives to them is prohibited.
It was bad information. I don't know what the perceived issue is but it is not on our end. I've gotten plenty of knives from up north. Check the actual laws and postal codes.

Hey BF,

So I called Canada Post about forms I need to fill out to get return a knife I bought from the US. However, Canada Post says there information US Border Patrol/Customs says it is prohibited to send knives from Canada to the United States... Any Canadians have any advice or anybody?

I sent a knife to Kershaw last month from Ontario. Packaged it, took it to Canada post, paid $8... he asked what it was I told him he sent it. Just came back this morning.

Are you saying it arrived back unrepaired or repair. For $8, it's fair to say it was sent small packet without tracking and with a white CN22 customs form. It should be noted the KAI usa(Kershaw) repair form states all knives send international should be declared warranty repair.

Good to know. I bought a 580 Barrage (cheap) from a guy at work who scratched the blade all to **** trying to sharpen it. The knife is fine and the blade doesn't seem to be harmed other than the scratches. Unfortunately they bug the be-jeepers out of me, so I was pondering sending the knife in to BM in the new year to get them to work their magic and put on a new blade, however, I don't want the knife with a new $40 blade winding up in some border cops pocket.

I think it's more problematic getting your stuff back into Canada than sending to US.

You saying the package got rejected US entry and got sent back to you. Or you sent to kershaw it arrived fine, and it got sent back to you?

I've bought knives (and swords, bayonets and machetes) from people in Canada, England, France, Poland (multiple times each), and 1x each from Greece, Romania, Ukraine. Never had a problem with US Customs or the USPS.

I did have a problem with the USPS in NY where they rejected a sweat shirt coming from the Czech Republic that had a Czech Knife/Hawk throwing association logo on it.

Sorry for late reply. It shipped to us and returned to Canada with no problems.

Correct. It was the cheapest method of shipping. I sent a broken knife and was sent a brand new one back. Not sure what the guy put for customs. It was a cheaper knife so I wasnt all that concerned about it. Had it had been an expensive one I would have went with tracking.

My most recent is last month. It took longer than expected to arrive at its destination 10 days as apposed to 3 working days but it got there safe and sound
and is on its way back to me as of this morning.
