Can't say enough about the military

I've had this knife since christmas, my mom bought it for me. All i have to say about it is wow. It's the first knife i grab when i go anywhere. It's the perfect size, weight and material. I love the S30V, when sharpened and then stropped produces a crazy edge, much better than my ZDP-189 caly3. Retention isn't an issue because i keep up on edge maintenance. It's just perfect. I haven't had a knife i loved this much since my benchmade ascent & CRKT m16-03 (old model with aluminum handles, non auto lawks). On a side not, that knife was made when CRKT was decent quality. But yeah, i don't think i'll be picking up another knife anytime soon.

 Yep, that Millie sure is one hell of a knife. Great size, weight, materials, and ergonomics. Congrats on the new knife. I've been carrying one for almost 9 months, and it seems to do well with anything.

Us choirboys can't stop singing praises for the millie. :D

Yeah, I just got my first Military the other day as well. It's funny because I feel as if out of all the knives in my collection, the Military carries the best in the pocket.

Threads like these don't help me in resisting the urge to try a Millie. So many blades so little money.

I can't wait to get the Brown G10/CTS-XHP Military, til then I have my M4/Ti to hold me over.

I miss my military. Such a great knife that I really shouldn't have gotten rid of. My tax return shall bring me another!

Have you guys got Paramilitary experience too? Why is the Military better in your opinion? I have neither, trying to decide :)

Weight difference is minimal (perceived) for a substantial increase in usable blade and handle paired with a user-friendly, yet quite strong, linerlock. Also, my Military will NOT wrist-flick open (I like strong detents). My Para 1 would flick open fairly easily. The Para 2 addresses this issue to a great extent but can still be wrist-flicked open with some effort.

I like both and many other Spydies, but my Millie dominates for pocket time. Mind you it's an older model BG-42 with a thinned blade with a Delica 4 clip tapped for tip-down. VERY low-profile since the clip is at the very end of the handle placed over the lanyard hole. My other standard Millie (an Orange S30V) gets some pocket time but not much due to I work in non-knife-people territory.

Thanks, that helps a lot! A strong detent is very important, or at least strong pivot tension, to get the knife into the country here.

I guess I want both of course :)

Another distinction: the Military is one of the few knives I find easy to open and close while wearing gloves.

Congrats on the new blade, and I agree with ya.

I put a CF BG42 Military in my pocket months ago, and I don't see anything out there that will keep it from being my main EDC for years to come.

You can't beat the size/weight ratio, and its one of the best cutters I've ever had.

There's something about that negative blade angle that just makes that knife want to cut. It out cuts a lot of my thinner blades even, and that negative angle is all I can think.

I actually prefer the para for EDC because of size and the compression lock, especially with the para 2 upgrades. ( I do prefer a 3.5" blade in general though, followed by a 4" then a 3.25-3)

To anyone interested in the Para and Military Sprint Runs.

They are all sold out, sold out in a day of coming up for preorder at various places.

I don't really get why Spyderco doesn't make a lot more of those, peope are obviously crazy about them, so why not introduce them as a new model, or at least do a ton in the sprint run.

Oh and my Orange Millie is boss, best knife I've ever owned.
