Can't scratch the itch!

I am starting to question my motives for buying new knives and other widgets online - is it
A) the content of the package or
B) seeing a new parcel arrive and the joy of opening it -
that "scratches my itch". I am leaning towards b).
Maybe I did not receive enough presents on Birthdays or at Christmas when I was a child? Maybe I miss understood the meaning of Iron deficiency? Maybe this forum has been a corruptive influence?
I wonder what I will receive in the post Today??? :D

Find a friend in Australia. Mail random objects to each other:
a toothbrush
can of beans
a tree branch
a shingle from your roof
a package of batteries

It'll always be a surprise and you'll always have something to look forward to.

(Jeez. We should start this in the BF passaround forum as sort of a support group for package addicts like you and me. :D )

Yeah, but then with my luck every knife company will go out of business except for Dark Ops, and that will only be because they don't really have anything to sell.

.

I have found it satisfying to help friends buy knives. Maybe we need to set up a forum where novices in search of knives can connect with local Bladeforums members who will go with them when they shop. The local "experts" will show them the best stores and help them pick knives. This involves going to stores, handling and explaining the knives, them participating by proxy in the actual purchase.

I'm on the same line as Stockman. Why do I keep buying stuff? Do I really need this stuff?

The shippingpal thing is a great idea. I wonder if it'd actually curb me spending, though? (especially knives).

I just bought my first custom knife a couple of months ago, and I'm wondering if it was a good idea. I see myself headed in the same direction (more custom knives, less productions and money). Yikes! It itches!!! ;)

A little off topic, I’m sorry, but this is a true “itch scratching” story that occurred in Australia about 10 years ago.
A mans teenage son committed suicide. The father a year later found out that his son had been sexually abused several times by another man living in the neighbourhood, and this was the contributing factor for his son’s suicide. The father tracked down this paedophile to find that he was in prison on another offence. Father fakes a staged bank robbery, gets caught, goes to same prison as paedophile, sharpens a kitchen spoon and kills paedo by cutting his throat, nearly beheading him. When prison guards pull him off the dead paedo, the fathers only comment to them was:
“Have you ever had an itch you can’t scratch? I just scratched mine!!”

I've heard that story. Could be an urban legend.

That sucks, I know what you mean I've been wanting an to upgrade an X5 to an E2e, for a while, but haven't had the cash.

Sorry to add to the hijack, but why not just get a X0? I went from a X5 to a X0 and the difference is amazing. The X0 is my most used light now.

...and I also have a e2e, but batts go dead too fast.
