Your first prototype semed to have a higher grind, ie, a shallower angle:

Was there a consensus to change, or production reason, or makers prerogative, or ......?

I noticed that too but I have several blades of a similar thickness with the steeper angle similar to the non prototypes, and that's really about right.:thumbup:

Yes - I changed the angle to 12.5 degrees....I had said earlier that I set it at 15 degrees...but I was reading my own protractor wrong...:foot:...it was really set at 10 degrees...which, to me, was resulting in a bevel that would require too much steel removal for sharpening.

So, I backed it off to 12.5 degrees...

Seems to function better and look more true to the original drawing. :thumbup:
