After finding my "perfect knife" (Spyderco Dragonfly ZDP-189 w/Nishijin scales) I doubted that I'd spend much time looking at knives and posting here. Well, a couple of deals "too good to pass up" came my way so I've purchased two Kershaw Leeks w/stainless scales (I think they are stainless anyway) and two Spyderco PM2s, one black satin blade w/black G10 scales, and the other a plain edge w/digicam G10 scales. I have a Leek that I bought at a pawn shop that is my "if I'm not carrying the Dragonfly I'll carry this" knife.

I'm not sure what the heck I'm going to do w/one PM2, let alone 2, as I decided long ago that the blades are too long for anything I'd need, but I bought them anyway!

I think you're the first person I've seen say the PM2 blade is too big. Do you like the ergos or are these the first PM2's you've owned? You could always modify one and shorten the blade a bit.

The disease runs deep. I spent a long time working on my carry rotation, got it down to 2 large primary folders and 2 small, people friendly backups. So now I've started selling off the knives I don't carry anymore and suddenly new needs and new knives are popping up. I need a lightweight folder and I don't have anything to carry at the beach or anything fully serrated, so a Pacific Salt goes on the list. And the Freeman 451 Buttonlock Flipper looks like it might be a a great, lighter option to maybe replace my Adamas, that goes on the lust list. But maybe I want the Spartan Pallas instead of that, or maybe...

It's a sickness.

for ~25 years the only knife I carried was a SAK Classic. It did 98% of the cutting I needed. I held a Spyderco Police for about 5 seconds and realized that anything over 2.5" was too big for me. So, the Dragonfly is the perfect knife for me. These will be the first PM2s that I'll actually hold. If I don't like them, I can part w/them and not lose much. But, I tend to put things I don't use in boxes in my office for a time I may want to use them in the future!

I received my PM2s today, as well as the Kershaw Cryos. I received the Leeks a couple of days ago. That is 6 knives in 4 days! It is indeed a sickness!

Since this is the first time I've ever handled a PM2, I must admit that the blade is nowhere near as long as I'd imagined. I've seen the stats/measurements before, but w/the handle length, my mind just elongated the blade. The blade is quite manageable, and the handle is really large!

I'm digging the digi cam, and the black just looks really slick to me.

The Kershaw Cryo seem very nice for what they are. I do prefer the folded size of these over the PM2 as I like to use the coin pocket in my jeans for the knife. I'm not sure I'll use either PM2, but I've got plenty of time to decide!
