just got this last thursday but wasn't able to go to the woods this weekend. first impression is wow, that handle is super ergonomic! it just melts in the hand. i'm not a big fan of leather but at least spyderco got it right by going with black and ambidextrous too. the plastic inner lining is a nice touch as well...this lefty gives it a big
i'm not really a spyderco fan. that is, i buy knives not because it's made by a particular maker, but when i think it's a well designed knife...it just so happens that spyderco nailed another one outta the park!
i've seen arguments regarding made in taiwan vs. u.s. frequently but this particular one the fit and finish is top notch! the grind is perfectly even on both sides, the scales are seamless, etc. in comparison, the u.s. made knife below it has some minor issues such as uneven ricasso (i just got done grinding it all the way against the scales) and the grind isn't even from heel to tip (that's next i'll fix). this clearly shows the maker's attention to detail trumps blindly dismissing something just because it's made in taiwan
spyderco's quality control is certainly right up there with the best.
anyway, the bushcraft has some tough competition and it will certainly not be babied. i'll see how it performs against my beloved mora
p.s. i'm merely stating quality of u.s. vs. taiwan made knives. i'm locking this thread at the hint of political discussions.
