Canteen stove fuel

I've noticed that many use the portable canteen cup stoves for BOBs and camping. What fuel do you like to use? What works well and is reliable for you?

The only thing I have ever used is the military trioxane fuel bars.

For day hikes I use this. Fuel: denatured alcohol.

I built a narrow trench in the dirt, for a small wood fire. The canteen cup stove then straddles this trench. If flat rocks are available, they are utilized as solid edges for the canteen up to rest on.
