Cantina KLVUK Give-Away!!!

I have two already, so don't enter me:p I just had to chime in that this is an incredibly nice gesture:) Good on you:)

Honerable move Philll! I pass cause I got three big uns and a small one already! Better to spread the KLVUK love! That one looks great BTW:thumbup:

nice job on the mods, i'm in.Is this your two faced klvuk?

Mr. Steve Tall has Two Face.
Hey Phillll put my name in, if I win send it to DarthTaco. Be my little bit for the Army. I'd love to see that in person though. Like to do that to mine I think. Kind of like the scale on but that kind of sings to me.
Might need how to guidance session.

Patina was done by wrapping the blade with paper towels soaked in apple cider vinegar.

I will also mention that I did sharpen the knife and it is very sharp.

You grind the scale off first then do the vinegar thing?

That's how I did mine. Scrubbed the scale off with muriatic acid and little bit of gun blue/rust remover. Then gave it an acid wash and neutralized it with baking soda.

I didn't grind it off with any sort of power tools. Just vinegar, couple hours soak, and then some sand paper, and then more vinegar, etc.

In addition to flashbacks to the 60's the very word muriatic acid kind of skeers me some. Acid has to be a bad thing especially if your like me and don't know what the heck your doing.

Here is a shot of the other side. I polished some of the patina off on this side.

I would be happy to enter.

I have never used a traditional Khukuri.

I have a KLO and a Machete (Busse KZII and CS magnum Khukuri neither of which handle like a traditional, I am sure!)

Awesome idea... But count me out for the draw.

I just want to know more about how you got it look that way. Me wanna do the same on mines.

snow, feel free to email me with any specific questions. I'll be happy to help. Nothing I did was particularly difficult.
