TKS has 1 1/8 thick blocks and pieces about 5 X 10 or so. I think other knifemaker supply outfits do too.

does it have to be micarta or will any phenalic do?

I did a big project out of phenaloc C years ago several sheets of 1.75 inch (3ftx4ft) from MCmaster-Carr. I still have some floating around. how much do you need?
