I added this to the last thread as well and finally got the pics working good.
it is the third knife I have made it is a Cape Skinner the knife is made from S30V the blade is about three inches long and the entire thing about eight inches from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle the handle is Burl and the Pins and Lanyard hole are Stainless. The Black ended up looking great. and again thanks Bruce for the instruction and guidance.

I had my doubts at first about this design but after Larry finished it I am very impressed. He did a real nice job and its amazingly comfy in the hand. Should be a heck of a skinner. I wonder how to make a sheath for it now?

Very cool, innovative design Larry  Not only does it look like a great skinner ( modified Ulu ), it looks like it would be a heck of a nice leather cutting knife too. I like it...... I like it a lot !

I made a knife a bit like that a while back and it is really handy. Lots of control and your hand is away from the work a bit.

I wish I could take credit for the design. However it is one my dad insisted I make for him he had seen one like it back east and could not find it again anywhere. He loved it, I didnt like the design at first however it looks and feels good and I like it more after it was finished. He actually came over when I was doing the initial work on the steel to make sure it fit His hand.

I like it!

I consider skinning the cape to be the most difficult chore field dressing a trophy.

Getting the head skinned down to the teeth and as close as you can around the eyes and nose is just plain tricky without adding nicks and button-holes.

How well dose this design work, if I may ask?.

My dad swears by it (I do not think he has ever used one) and I have not used one at all. friends who hunt siad they think it will work well with the size and shape.
