I had a fellow knifemaker, Tackett13 come over with the family the other night so we decided to make a couple of knives. He wanted to do a caper, which I have never made before, so we drew them out and went to work. We wanted to use the same scales and liners. I let my nine year old profile and do the handles because he has been nagging me for months to "help". I cleaned them up a little after he was done but he did a great job! Burned the pins a little but its not horrible. Everything matches on both sides, I made him do it all by hand. Anyways, here it is! This also listed on our forum so first "Ill take it" gets it.
Aldos 1084 steel 1/8"
Convex Saber Grind with tiny secondary edge. I put a secondary on for people who cant sharpen convex well. It would only take a second to zero it, its a thin slicer!
4" handle 3" blade
Miriniba scales with orange liners. Couldn't capture the curl but these things are flashy
Stainless pin and tube
custom leather sheath
90.00 shipped

you need to farm that boy out, he's got a future ahead of him; great job.

Thanks! He did fine work. He has been bugging me for awhile to let him help so I thought this one would be a good project for him. I told him that he can have the money if it sells to buy some more supplies!

Thats a good looking knife your son did good, congrats to you both. That wood also is very nice and the price. I always feel sorry for you knifemakers when i see pics of your hands though. You certainly earn your $$ and more. Good luck with you and your son's sale.

Starting him young, nice to see and good for him Chris. Great bonding time and he has a excellent mentor to learn from...
