Here is a great Caping Knife or Bird & Trout. I used my personal one with this blade design to skin two axis bucks and then filleted a couple flounders. My blades hold an edge and with all that use I just took it to a leather strop once. I enjoy field testing my knives almost as much as making them.
The Koa Wood really has some great contrasts and is awesome when the light catches it. The hippo I picked up on my bear hunt in Alaska. I met the guy who harvested the hippo, which was quite a story. It was awesome to see the sparks coming off the grinder as I worked with it.
I tool and hand stitch all my own sheathes for every knife. I believe the sheath needs to reflect the character of the knife it holds and protects.
