car insurance question

I have both ends of the spectrum. At the high end, full coverage on the Honda S2000 convertible is almost $100/month. :thumbdn:
At the low end, liability only for the '04 Volusia is $35/year.

I used to drive a S2000, Nice car 9000 RPM redline, and pretty well built, I had a RSX Type S Too.

I don't drive the "S" very much. My commute is only two miles each way and I usually drive the truck. Seemingly, the previous owner didn't drive it much either. It's an '02 with 25,000 miles. :o

Fortunately there are things you can do to drop your rates and improve your statistics:

- get married
- get old
- buy a home
- decrease insurance coverage
- increase deductible
- buy crappier vehicles
- improve credit score
- move to a cheaper area
- buy more cars to get discounts
- become a chick
- get good grades (for young drivers)

My fav:
- drive less

Visited Geico after paying State Farm, curiousity more than anything. Guy told me the State Farm rate was pretty good and that he could only do $3 less for 6 months.

Wife pays 176.00 a month for full coverage on a 05 Kia Rio. High deductibles, only the amount of coverage to stay legal. I pay 205 for 6 months on my 01 Pontiac Grand AM (I have State Farm). Visited Progressive and I can the wifes car down to about 80 a month, just have to wait for this policy to time out.

Skinnyjoe - remember when going into an insurer the crutches and fake casts are for claiming not acquiring quotes.

I chose an insurance that was basically honest and would pay out promptly. I have friends who were rear ended and are still arguing over who pays out.
