Carbon blade slippy..what to buy?

Queen is offering some very nice carbon steel knives, at the moment. Cumberland Knife Works has the best selection of these knives that I am aware of. The Horns are great people to do business with, too.
Second that!
Any Queen in D2

I have an Eye Brand mini trapper with stag scales that I really like - the finish is rougher than a Queen or a Case, but generally speaking the Eye Brand is very well made, and the price was right.

I have several from Eye Brand - various stockmans, small sodbuster, large sodbuster, etc. Fit & finish is often not quite as nice as Case, Queen, or Moore Maker, but the blades are great. They usually come with very thin edge bevels and well-executed full flat grinds.

Just wish I could find a small Queen stockman in carbon. I've got the d-2, but a bone or cocobolo with carbon blades would be nice. I've looked at Mooremaker, but the small stockmans are 3 7/8"? ....

I copied this off of cumberland knife works, so maybe something will happen.

A new line of knives will debut in the Fall of 2007 bearing the name Queen City Cutlery Classics and have the old QCCC trademark shield. The significant item here will be the use of more exotic handle materials , mainly , Rams horn , Ebony Wood, Camel , Burl, and others not commonly used today. Plus, all knives will be constructed of 1095 High Carbon steel.

These issues will be all serial numbered with certificates of authenticity so collectors will be able to secure thier favorite numbers with each succeeding knife issue.

The QCCC shield was only used between 1928 and 1932 . It is sure to be a big with collectors. The first knives will be coming soon.

The Queen mini-trappers look good. Nice bone handles, good 1095 steel. I am looking at picking up one of the 1095 canoes.

I think currently the Queens are D2, The 1095 are on the way all under the Queen City Country Classic or QCCC badge. So we have a short wait still.

If they do the Mini Trapper in 1095 and Rams Horn I want one!!

They're availabe as Queen Classics. You can find some at Cumberland Knife Works.

Not the small stockman. The mini-trapper is available in 1095.

Yes it is - and when I mentioned earlier that I love the queen version of the mini trapper, that is the knife I meant. Cozy Glen SFO with the Queen City tang stamp.

That is the best all around mini trapper I've seen in a long time. I suspect the Moore Maker is just like it.
