Going to bring this one back to the top, as I’ve just completed this one. This knife will be my ‘demo’ example for the Ashokan Blade Seminar this October. My talk is how I use materials such as raw carbon fiber cloth, aerospace materials like Divinycell and Rohacell foam core materials, and other lightweight materials to make this:

This is a 6” blade of Crucible’s rare CPM10v core/CPM154 clad laminated steel. The entire knife is almost 12” long, balances right at the index finger right behind the guard, and weighs 6-3/4 ounces.


Here’s a thread I started in Shoptalk about the announcement of the event, in case any of you are interested. It’s one of, if not the oldest ‘hammer-ins’ in the country, and I am humbled to be among some incredible demonstrators. Hope you can make it, should you choose.
