A friend of mine recently mentioned that he had encountered a Delica with a carbon fiber handle and VG-10 blade. I have been collecting spydercos for a while and have never seen this variant. Can anyone tell me when this edition was produced- and how many were made? Also, any estimates as to the value in NIB condition?

I have one each serrated is#495 and the plain edge is #375 that leads me to believe that there were at least 500 of each made.could have been more.
I checked the bay and two sold recently there a right handed PE$ went for140 left hand brought $82.

Think they were made around '03. IIRC 600 each RH PE and RH SE, 300 each LH PE and LH SE. They have not really caught fire on the collector's market yet, have seen them go for anywhere from $80 to $110, with the PE ones generally fetching more than the SE, but I have not been following eBay as closely lately as I once did.

Here's a shot of a LH PE one...

I received mine from the dealer as soon as they were available - May 2003. Collectors probably got theirs a bit earlier.

There were a total of 1500 produced.

750 PE - 600 RH and 150 LH
750 SE - 600 RH and 150 LH

Here's a picture of Delica CF SE #245, amongst a few of my other Spyderco's.
