what is a nice CF folder for $200 and under

i like the spyderco lum but i already own a benchmade lum

Spyderco Gayle Bradly, Laci Szabo, ZDP-189 Caly 3.5, CPM154 Blur limited edition, Nemesis Manx. That's all I can come up with off the top of my head.

You can also have CF scales made for a particular knife that you might want.

I'll second the Gayle Bradley. Very solid knife. The ergonomics are great, comes in a fantastic steel, and fits well within your budget

im liking these suggestions but why so many spyderco's, is there not many companies that use CF within my price range

This one right here. You did say lum but not which one exactly...

Almost forgot, Meyerco offers quite a few inexpensive folders with carbon fiber. Can't speak to the quality, though.

Spyderco on their regular production knives don't use real carbon fiber and that's why they are sometimes cheaper than knives with actual carbon fiber scales.

This is false. The Taichung Taiwan made spydercos do use a cf/g10 laminate but the cf is very much real. The rest of the cf spydercos are full cf. Those that are not "real" cf as labeled as such e.g. Nishjin glass fiber.

Spyderco Sage 1. Very office-friendly folder; unobtrusive, nice clip. Excellent. I bought it for my son-in-law who doesn't carry a knife. He will now. I looked and looked and I really couldn't find a better carbon-fiber to recommend.
