Carbon Fiber Folder $200 and under

I don't care about the laminate as long as it looks good it's not like the G-10 underneath is fragile or weak

Keep your eyes open for one of these, Gerber SL 3.25 with ATS34 blade, titanium liners and a low ride clip, ya can stilll find em on ebay for under $75.

I've had one since they discontinued them, actually bought a spare when I misplaced my first one(luckily I found it and now have 2) This is a great knife, F&F were excellent, sharpness OTB was shavin' sharp, this knife is light, strong and comparable in quality to a $200+ knife.

I'll echo what some others have said: Spyderco Sage 1. It's such a good size/weight for EDC and the twill carbon fiber is really a good mix of looks and texture.

Ok, I'll go non Spyderco to diversify.

Kershaw Blur with CF inlays. Geez what else?

how about this instead of carbon fiber knives ill ask

name some quality flipper knives that are assisted I say between $50 and $200

350's can be found for under $100 and the 30X's for under $200 in the exchange sometimes.

Sanrenmu 738 - carbon fiber with blue anodized liners.

Get a Spyderco Manix 2 and some carbon fiber scales.

Browning has a nice carbon fiber folder too.

I have one of these, but with a plain blade. Very nice knife, but I doubt that they are going to be easy to find.

Spyderco Navaja
Spyderco Gayle Bradley
Kershaw Blur Carbon Fiber (from Kershawguy)

Probably a few more I can't think of right now.

That Southern Grind Bad Monkey (stupid name) looks interesting, but you think at $180 they could have just included that $10 take-down tool?

no but I don't want to have custom made.

in all honesty I want to have my adamas given the tuff thumbz treatment but I am not sure what he'll charge but I do really like both the spyderco szabo and bad monkey and buying either would be really great

Fair enough. I guess I really meant to say that the easiest way is to get whatever knife you really like, and end up liking it even more by getting CF scales custom made for it, instead of settling for just what's available on the shelf.

I haven't handled a Szabo in person, so I can't offer much on that front but the Southern Grind has been my constant companion since I got it, right after they hit the market. It has kicked everything else out of my pocket and I have pretty much stopped buying folders. The Ti liners and CF scales make it very light, I love the blade profile and the Emerson Wave makes opening a flash. By far my favorite folder I've owned and I've had oodles. Some people say the Sandvik steel is a let down but I love it. It takes an edge easily and holds it well. And the overall fit and finish of the knife is tip top.
