Looking for carbon fiber knife. I now Mad Dog knives use to make one but does anyone else or is this just strictly a custom order thing? Anyone that can lead me in the right direction it would be appreciated

not totally just CF , but Warren Thomas makes CF & TI laminated fixed blade , a maker named Brad Fairall put out some all CF small fixed blades recently.

To the knucklehead that typed I would but I won't why even reply ? I am a professional, and thought I was among professional. But I guess there has to be a wise --- in every bunch . But to the others that did try to help I thank you.

i could, but i won't. nobody needs a carbon fiber knife. freaks maybe. but as a police officer you don't fit into that category. let's hope so...

hans

Very helpfull. It's attitudes like this that get our knives banned. What's next: nobody needs locking folders? (Banned in England) Nobody needs Balisongs? Only freaks and criminals? (banned in belgium, the balisongs that is, not the freaks and criminals). Can you imagine having to surrender your custom made Darrel Ralph Balisong knife because all of a sudden somebody decides you don't need it?
I don't need a Busse AK47, but I have one. Am I a freak now?:(

@ One 5150 Bomb K9 : sorry for the rant.:o

Back on topic : wasn't there also a maker that made carbon fiber blades with a titanium cutting edge? I don't remember exactly who.

Edit: With my rant going, I didn't see that John T Wylie Jr. already mentioned the Warren Thomas knives.

Warren Thomas, is the maker, but you will pay large amounts to get one.

Thanks. That's him. As for the large amounts, this is the custom knife forum.:D

Chase Axinn at Chaxknives makes a few composite knives, I think. His website is 2 years out-of-date, though.

I would like to personally Thank everyone who has helped me. Minus one knucklehead. I am glad to see there are professional who are willing to help. Thanks again to all.

To everyone that piped up and made us even more exposed than we already are....

WTF is it going to take for you to use the FILTER that you are equipped with?

Not everyone that signs up and asks a question is a friend.....not everyone seeking advice deserves it.

There was a POS that started a Snody thread a while back, who posted and ran, and left me to clean up the mess, and, while a positive learning experience, I could have done without the drama. I learned my lesson with that one.

While the OP may have some very valid need for a CF knife, he/she also may be someone who could/wants to burn us down the line.

Hans, while I agree with your thoughts, and even your approach, some people just WANT something offbeat. Does not make them a freak.

Best Regards,

STeven, a 15 minute google search could reveal the information we've provided. How are we "more exposed" now?

Because "we" are a specific discussion group that pro-actively responded to the poster.

"We" are not offering anything for sale, nor are "we" a business....we are a community, made up of individuals.

I stand by my comment. Hans could have said nothing if he didn't want to help. he chose to toss around smug judgements. Thought police must be in full effect where he is from. In any case, if I wanted a Carbon fiber knife, I would get one, regardless of "need", and it would not make me a freak.

The word "NEED" is always tossed about by those who would like to ban objects. We don't "NEED" X type of gun, X type of knife. . . you get the picture.

THAT would not make you a freak, Mike, you already ARE one.:D ;) :D .

As i recall, the Mad Dog knife and the "CIA Letter opener" caused almost as much sheeple-scaring main stream media hysteria as the Glock 17. These knives that allegedly cannot be detected by security devices have, in fact, been outlawed in some places already. I am sure that these "non-magnetic" knives were originally invented with some purpose in mind, such as possibly being used to get yourself out of a minefield, but they have been demonized. The funny part is that composite, titanium etc knives are, by some peoples accounts, vastly inferior as usable cutting tools when compared to knives made of more tradtional materials and more of a novelty outside of their very narrow original purpose. I am not one to chastise anyone over whether they "need" something or not. But the previous comments are valid. Yes, we have the right of free speech and hopefully, we will never get to the point where are friends at British Blades are where they can not talk politics or refer to any use of cutlery as a weapon except in historical context for gfear of drawing attention to themselves and causing even more things to be banned. But that doesn't mean that we will never seeanother incident where someone is trolling the forums looking for controversial topics to write some sensationalist article or sound bite on.
