carbon fiber on a cqc14

Yeah sure. I don't have enough CF to do it I don't think but I may. I have to see whats left after using it on another project. I know there will be some extra but probably not enough for a knife that big in the handle.

I am trying to get somemore of the textured carbon fiber if I can but they said its not always available. We are in a world wide shortage of CF as I understand it so it may not be easy to find. I'll try though. Not all CF is the same and it has to be a certain quality or its not worth buying.

I would not need the knife since I have two 14s of my own here. Its going to be at least two months I think but I'll try to get to it sooner for you Theo.

By the way CF is expensive. I'll need more than usual for this job to do them in that material. Its more expensive than G10. I'll have to check price before ordering it. Its unpredictable and since I won't just be able to buy less than a certain size sheet its going to run more on my end just to get it. This is primarily why I have not stocked it. I wouldn't even have any now if not for a couple Ouparators ordered with it. I'll be in touch.

No its not textured like that. Its more like the Spyderco Military in CF. Identical I think looking at it here in front of me. I got a sample strip of it but its barely wide enough to use for anything.

The pattern on the Tad Gear 300 is an exclusive I'm sure they have done for them specifically. Its also something I believe that is licensed to either Kershaw or Zero Tolerance. So it would not be something that could be duplicated without permission just about like the Strider texturing which required a license agreement.

Supposedly the textured CF is on the way to me Theo. I haven't recieved it yet though.

I got a 12" x 12" sheet of it and about crapped when it was priced! Don't ask.

Its going to be higher $ to do than a G10 thats for sure.

Got the textured CF in this morning. Nice stuff. Just like the stuff used on the Millie in the same material.

Can i get chrome screws for it and a chrome pivot screw?? Wow that would look good :D
 
No the pivot is proprietary to Emerson. I have chrome or silver phillips head screws though. They would most likely screw right down. I believe they are just a tad longer than the black Emerson factory screws but they should still work I think.

I'll throw some in your bag with the scales when they are done. If they work great, if not you can use the black ones over.

Its going to be a few yet before I can get to your requests. Its coming though.

Sure. All the hardware can be blasted for that matter. I'd need the knife to do that though.
