Carbon fiber pins and tubing strength/durability?

Hi, this prabobly isn't the right forum but I figured that no one knows knife materials better than the makers themselves. I recently purchased a custom knife and I love everything about except for the fact that the maker used carbon fiber pins and lanyard. To me it seems that these parts would be fragile to impacts, Im especially concerned about the lanyard splitting or splintering like I've seen on carbon fiber arrow shafts. Have any of you used carbon fiber pins or lanyards in your knives? If so do you find it reasonably durable? Thanks!

Let's see a picture of the knife.
Carbon fiber is very strong and used quite often as pins, and it's becoming more and more popular. I can't say I personally have ever seen a carbon fiber lanyard tube but I would not be afraid of it. It might wear more if your running paracord in and out of it a crap ton but as long as the edges are smooth and the fibers are not exposed it should be fine.

I would think the surrounding handle material would help support the carbon fiber while the carbon fiber does it's pin or laynard tube duty. A symbiotic relationship?
