I have been on the hunt for a CF spyderco. I was leaning towards the caly 3 but then i caught wind of the Gayle Bradely which comes in the super steel, M4. What would you guys pick and why. Please post pics or vids if you have em.

Can't go wrong with the Gayle Bradley, very solidly-built, keeps an extremely sharp edge, and pretty reasonably priced. Choking up on the blade takes a little bit of getting used to though.

I'd say it depends to some extent on where you live and what you do with your knives. Caly 3 is the better slicer, more "office friendly", and probably the better choice if you live near salt water. Bradley is more suited for hard use. My personal choice among current production models would be the Chaparral. It's light weight with an ultra thin blade that out slices the Caly 3 and basketweave textured CF that's both grippy and attractive. However, I'm left handed so my choices are somewhat limited.

Gansta what are you going to use the knife for? The GB is an awesome hard use knife but might turn some heads in an office setting. The Caly 3 and Sage 1 are a bit more subdued for carrying around folks who do not know knives. I personally have and carry all 3 and love them all. The GB is heavier and is more bulk in the pocket. Also consider what lock system you prefer, spine lock verses liner lock. They are all great blades and you can certainly can't go wrong with any of them.

I much prefer the carbon fiber on the gayle bradley, but sometimes it is just too wide for me. Aside from that i cant say anything that hasnt already been said, but man is it easy to sharpen. I like my edc knives to be on the slimmer side, so that is where the caly3 steps in, really more like slides in as the cf is slick to the touch, but the ergos are so good that its not an issue. It is like a luxury ffg delica, though the blade is stouter. Im not sure how i feel about the blade being laminated. i love high carbon steels as well as caring for them, so rust isnt an issue for me usually. but i guess it lets the zdp-189 be harder usual? You also have to consider what kind of clip you want to go with because both are very nice slicers and have good edge retention.

I like a nice fatty every now and again, that is why I just ordered a Gayle Bradley as my first Spydie. Just placed the order yesterday with Amazon gift cards I got for christmas (Thanks Fam!!!). I'm doing everything in my power not to order the blue para 2 in M390. Must resist...

Liveitloud posted some nice photos. I think these threads that ask the question, "This spydie or that spydie?" are impossible to answer. With 50 or so Spydies, I guess I'm a "collector," but I'm not afraid to carry and use any of them. I happen to LOVE carbon fiber. No particular reason.... just think CF is cool. So, I have a lot of CF Spydies.

My first Spydie ever was the Caly 3. It's a classic. My 2nd CF Spydie was the Sage 1. When I have friends ask me which knife they should get, I say the Sage 1 is THE knife to get, if you only get one.

The Gayle Bradley is a tank of a knife. Amazing fit and finish. Smooth action - THWACK! I'd say nearly custom quality at a production price.

I also have a CF Paramilitary 2, Manix 2, Navaja, Stretch, Kopa, and some others I'm spacing out right now. :)

My standard answer to "which one should I get?" is: Get'em all! :D

That looks great!Where do I sign up?

im going to use it as an edc, i have never heard of the Chaparral. ill have to look into that... but ill probably get both the caly 3 and the bradely..

I carry the GB every day and love it. I'm also looking hard at the new Spyderco Air. Looks like a small gentleman"s Leek!

the Spyderco Air looks amazing! I have heard that M4 on the GB is not that great...

you have heard wrong. or you have heard from a person who got a lemon.

my GB holds a fine edge almost forever. then, when it needs a sharpening, just takes a couple minutes (2-3) and its back to that air bleeding sharp.

i was also looking at the air, but no pocket clip = hesitation

An old picture of my CF collection. A few more since such as a CF D-fly and Chaparral.

As you can see I like CF spydercos. Something about them that screams class.
