I've had this kicking around my shop for a while. My uncle used to work at a materials developer. This is hollow, octagonal carbon fiber tube. 27mm x 22mm. 2mm wall thickness. I was told it was used for high end tennis rackets. I have 2 five foot lengths. Any ideas what they could be used for? I though maybe as wa handles due to the dimensions and shape, but I would need to fill the cavity. IMG_20180429_201336967.jpg IMG_20180429_201354031.jpg

I will cut proper length for handle , make front and rear bolster , picked some light wood and shape to fit inside tube and glued............ Yellow strands is kevlar don t try to sand that s........

I might even try making slugs with tang slots and gluing them at the front and part way back to keep things light. Or carve two halves of wood to fit. Lots of ways about it. Neat looking stuff.

I would do the same as kuraki. Fit plugs in the back and front. It would make a great wa handle on a yanagi-ba.
