Any custom makers out there working with carbon steel?

I am very interested in purchasing a medium size two blade trapper in carbon steel with a traditional look and feel. Any recommendations of some reputable makers?

Thanks in advance!

NAN,At the Bladeshow,I handled a few knives (slipjoints)of Jeff Claiborne
The knives I handled were 52100 & fabulous, really nicely crafted.
I have his brochure, and yes he does do a trapper
Carbon steels he uses:
52100,5160,1095,1075,O1,L6 & also D-2 ,Stellite,6K & Damascus
his contact is jeff@claiborneknives.com tel 1 -317 - 736 - 7443
He was very nice to talk to,and informative as to what he made
If a carbon steel blade slipjoint is what you are after,I would recommend him as a knifemaker to look into

I have a couple of Jeff's slipjoint knives and I would second the recommendation.

Jeff will tell you he believes in making working knives and putting as much blade as possible into the space available, so there is a possibility of a little bit of minor blade rub. Indeed, both of mine show some minor blade rub, but both are two blade, single backspring models (half congress and serpentine half whittler). Might not be an issue with a trapper.
