I've got a batch of Alabama Damascus knives that I'm getting ready to send to Peter's for hardening. How thin can I take the edges before sending them off? I know the website says 0.03" but I've done stainless with them and have gone under their recommended 0.015" and haven't had trouble. Is that also the case with their heat treatment of carbon steels?

Stick with .03" for carbon steels.

Besides the warp issue, you also have to remove more of the surface in clean-up after HT.
