Anyone else here have a 'Card Skinner' knife, the one that comes in a plastic credit card type case? I received an early B'day present from a long distance friend. Made in Germany, Stainless, 2 holes for fingers, and what appears to be an asymetrical edge. The edge is sharpened only on one side, but in a Scandi type grind.

Feels good in hand, just have to get one of those pesky squirrels that keeps climbing into my garden for the peas:eek:

I'm not sure I've ever seen a skinner that uses a chisel grind. I'd be interested in seeing a picture, if you could work it out? Sounds like a cool little tool!

1Tracker,

I believe that SMKW was selling those for a while. There may have been two different patterns, reasonably priced.. I'll be interested to see how they work out...

Looks to be a fine cutting tool for the intended purpose of skinning out an animal regardless of size. I'll just have to find some local critters to 'volunteer', may be awhile unless I can get down to the Pinelands. If I kill it I eat it, and woodchuck just does'nt make me hungry. Squirrels, chickens, deer, yeah, those would do but the only victim, ahem, volunterrs that seem to be around these days are sunflower seed fattened squirrels.

The knife is surprisingly compact, sharp as the dickens, lightweight for it's size, and affordable. It's made in germany so that's a major plus for the steel quality IMO/E.

Seems interesting. I think I will get one for my squirrels when the time comes around.
