Axe is unused, I wiped on some raw linseed oil when it arrived but handle was well treated and absorbed none. Really nice little camp/bush craft axe but I also restore axes as a hobby so it is unlikely will ever get around to using this one. I asked maker and the poll is also hardened. I would not drive metal wedges with a poll to protect the eye if not the poll but should be fine for stakes, pegs, wooden and synthetic wedges or the occasional nail.
Potential trade material- looking for some knives for my son and daughter. As gifts, they need to be new/like new
