I'm sure that this has come up before, but can someone help me with the restoration and care of stacked leather handles?

Thank you, Bustelo

I have used saddlesoap in the past. Cleans and protects to a point. I found that using saddlesoap did not leave the leather feeling slippery , which on a knife handle - is a good thing :D

Another vote for leather wax (e.g. SnowSeal).

If you don't want your leather to become softer you have to use a wax, 'cos any greases will do that to leather. This would be good for some applications (e.g. some boots) but not necessarily for a knife handle.
