Care of knives

When I was a kid, I had a lot of knives and handled them from my grandfather. After his death, I hadn't used them for about six years. A friend just bought me a few new knives: one 12 inch hunting knife, and a couple of pocketknives. But all of my technical knowledge seems to have slipped away, and I am completely empty on how to care for them. Any care tips you may have would be helpful - how to keep them clean, what to use on the wood and blades, and how to store them; anything you think may be helpful. Thanks.

We all want to keep our knives in good condition. The searches should give you a lot of help.
