My sincerest condolences on your aunt passing away. I'm glad that your injury was not deadly and is a great reminder to wear eye protection and to be safe. I hope you heal quickly and the pain disappears quickly. I'll admit to taking life for granted and am grateful for being around today. Thanks for sharing your story. I'll be praying for you and yours

What a crazy accident. The description of your injury is enough to make my eyes water.
I hope you heal up and do not suffer any permanent damage.

That is a great deal of "bad" to deal with. Sounds like your attitude is excellent all things considered.
I am sorry for all your losses and applaud your thoughts encouraging others to practice safety.
Best wishes to a full recovery.

Holy Smokes!!!!

You are lucky to be alive!

Sorry about your Aunt passing.

Take the time to recover and don't push yourself too hard,

Jerry

Glad it didn't turn out worse, Eagle. You sound tough as nails man. Hang tough. Thanks for sharing the story with us.

Wow, thanks for information...I've never heard of a failure of that magnitude. I'm sorry for your loss and suffering. Kel Tec better F-ing pay your med bills at minimum... A 1911 in INFI!

 Wow, man... Very glad that you wore that eye protection, but a failure like that is still pretty messed up. I hope that you heal up quickly and with no permanent damage.

My most sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your aunt. :(
Take care, brother.

Dang Bro, very sorry to hear about this. You are lucky indeed cause it could have been worse. Condolences to you and yours along with smoke and prayers Brother!!!

Wow. What an experience. A lesson for all of us for sure. Hope you get better soon without too much pain.

Whoa!

Very sorry to hear about your aunt. Smoke headed your way from Texas.

I'm truly amazed that you had a catastrophic failure like that on a firearm. That is very scary! Thank God you had the foresight to have eye protection. I started shooting a 22 at the age of 7 and haven't let up since. Love it. I know no one who has experienced a failure like yours. Kel-Tec has liability insurance to cover manufacturer defects such as this. As much as I despise personal injury lawyers (because they are ruining our country!!!) this might be an appropriate use for a dirtbag... er... lawyer. Not suggesting that you should ask for a billion dollars or anything, but your medical needs should be paid. If you decide to go that direction, remember who is holding the leash and who is on the leash. ;) But then again, with a name like LEGALEAGLE I might be telling Noah about the flood.

Hope you heal up pronto and all ends well. And just remember one last thing: Chicks dig scars....

Doug

I am shocked to read this. Sincerest condolences about your aunt.

I am so sorry to hear about your injuries. Thanks for sharing the story though, we can all learn from this.

I have never heard of a gun failure like this so I never wear any protective gear when shooting. I am starting my kids out with shooting and I am about to buy a few new guns so this is a good reminder about proper protection. I will now certainly put a lot of rounds through any new guns before letting the kids & wife use them.

I hope you recover 100% my friend. On the legal front, I know you know what to do but like you said, this could be a life changing event and that should be considered in your recourse.

Garth

Sorry to hear about your recent misfortune Doug. Hope you heal quickly.

Have you contacted Kel Tec?

Heal fast bro, and make sure you get out to the range soon. The longer you wait the more difficult it will be. On a side note this isn't the first time I have heard about a Kel Tec :barf: failing; first catastrophic failure I've heard of but not the first major one:thumbdn::grumpy:... I won't ever use one now... You should DEFINITELY get a lawyer...
Take care of yourself and feel better! :D
