Cargo Pants.

I have a couple pair of the 5.11's. Love 'em. I have unusually thick thighs, so I buy them a little looser.

I've worn Royal Robbins 5.11s for years. Great pants. Comfortable, great pockets, tough as nails! A while back it was time for a couple of new pair and I noticed the logo had changed from Royal Robbins to 5.11. Same pants so it was no big deal. After a couple of weeks I noticed that the left rear pocket had developed small holes in one of the pair. I put them off to the side and then pulled out another pair and guess what... same place same holes. Had to be a manufacturing problem.

Long story short... Today I sent Julie their Customer Service Manager an email and she answered me within hours. On Sunday. She has already placed an order for replacement pants! Absolutely incredible.

I'll grant you they aren't the cheapest pants in the store, but in the long run I think they save money.

Can anyone recommend any good and reasonable sites to order Royal Robbins, BDU's, True-Spec, etc?

While 5.11's are nice....they have the dorkiest fit ever. I bought a few pairs of the Levis work series two years ago in a few colors (orange-ish like carharts, dark blue, brown and olive green) Tough as nails and I'm hard on jeans. Good size cargo pockets and tall belt loops.

I am looking for quality cargo pants. I went to a clothes store and all their pants had tiny pockets and big logos - i.e. yuppy pants.

Essentially, I want solid color BDU pants. Does anyone have suggestions?

Try www.uscavalry.com .

I have purchased from their store at Ft. Cambell in person several times enroute North & am well satisfied with their products .. Most products meet mil-spec & I was surprised to see how many GI customers they have.

You are talking about combat engineers or in another field ?Working in the open is not my cup of tea if there is any firing going on.

I just bought some from Wal-mart believe it or not.. and I like them alot.. and they even zip the lower legs off to make shorts... $17 bucks.. I stocked up on them ... I have 511 tacts also and they are nice but a bit too thick for hot humid weather..

Uncle Alan- Combat Engineers. That is my MOS. At times I wish I had gone Infantry only because Sniper school is not open to anyone other than them....oh yeah, and Cav Scouts.
Another plus for Infantry is that the civilian contractors hire alot of them for security work.
