Carpenter Park Hike III (The Final Chapter)

I always thoroughly enjoy your threads Warrior. You do a fantastic job of capturing the scenery, and you get really good action shots! And as always, it looks like a super fun time. Thanks for taking us along.

great thread as usual. they always look like a good time and make me want to get out in the woods.

I be needing one of those bags I dunno why but I do lol!!
There decent bags for the money. Not Maxpedition quality mind you, but they're only $25 too.

Great pictures Warrior! looks like a fun day out. I love making toothpicks with my BK2. It cuts so well for such a thick knife.
Thanks man. It freaks me out how well it cuts. Just digs right in.

Great shots as always Dubz. Kay and I love your threads as well. As far as the firesteel goes, I rarely even carry one any more. Instead of carrying cotton balls or finding and prepping tinder, I just flick a Bic and enjoy the fire..:D
Thanks man, appreciate it. I like you guys' threads as well. I just like to use the firesteel for practice, but a flick of a Bic is a hell of a lot easier, haha.

Fun stuff, Dubz! Keep them coming... :D
Thanks man.

Thanks.

Looks like a great time.
Thanks, it sure was. And cheap too. Just a few bucks for gas.

Keep'em coming..........

Only thing I noticed your leaving out is tick count. lol
Have never gotten a tick yet, knock on wood.

Thanks man. I always say there's nothing better than a trip to the woods to soothe the soul. I don't worry about anything when I'm there. It all goes away...

Real nice area you've got there Dubz!
Thanks man. It's about all we have in the area really. The Sangamon River is the closest river to me, and I live in Sangamon county. Sangamon means, "where there is plenty to eat".

You guys have convinced me to head out into the woods tomorrow instead of being a responsible parent and going to work.:D It will be a good break as I need the time alone in the woods.

Great post. Thanks for sharing.

Question about the bag - Does it fit water bottles (standard from the gas station, Nalgene, anything you might have experience with) pretty well? Our walk Saturday told me I'd better find a way to carry a lot more water for the family in my capacity as pack mule if I think I'm going to get them out on the trails with summer coming.

great pics,,and thanks for the spice/glitter idea :D
Thanks man. No problem, I got the idea from BCUSA. WOrks out great. I also have a GSI Spice Missile, but have never used it.

Nothing like being in the woods man, it's freakin' great.

I've never put a bottle in it, as I have the 5.11 bottle carrier attached to the outside. I carry a 38oz guyot in the carrier. We usually take a canteen full of water as well.

Awesome little bag! Awesome hike, looks like a great time! Did you use fresh conchiglie or was it dried?

I didn't care for the sling bag at first. As a matter of fact, I gave it to my wife, then later decided to get another and give it a go again. I find if the bag rides low on my back, where the bottom of it hits my belt, it's way more comfortable. We always have a blast hiking. The meal is always the big deal. It was dried.

I have a UTG "Tactical Messanger Bag" which rides very weird, it is at about the 4-5 o'clock position but it has a spot to feed the belt through the back of it to hold it in place when moving around.

It looks like I need to step up my game for outdoor cooking apparently to get onto your level!

I remember that bag. We love to cook outdoors. Not the most convenient, but fun. Always trying to think of new things to cook on the Emberlit.
