Carpenter Park Hike (Photo Heavy)

Nah, when I was younger, I was a pet person. As I get older, I don't want the responsibility anymore. Thanks anywhos.

Awesome pics as usual! beautiful landscape you guys have, so green.

Thanks man. It is green along the river, but we really need the rain bad. Supposed to rain here wed and thurs. We'll see.

Nice hike. Nice sling bag and coffee maker. Always look forward to seeing your hike threads. Your take some pretty great photo's sir. I have the same stove. Great little burner if it's not windy :). Looking to upgrade to a jetboil soon.

Thanks man, appreciate it. It is a nice little stove. Wasn't windy that day at all, but I did have a windscreen with me just in case. This one:

Looks like you had a great time Dubs! Glad you two had a chance to get out.

Amanda used to have a pet Hognose. That thing was full of piss and vinegar.

looks like an awesome peaceful time was had.... until WHAM, she broke out the expresso maker !!!! what a trip I've never seen one of those before for trail action, something I would enjoy no doubt...

when my snake regurgitated it was sick and died not to many weeks afterward...

great pics as usual thanks for posting that, I'm rather fond of 'carpenter' myself :).. wished there were more place like that around here locally

I don't even drink espresso, but I enjoy the hell out of the process with this little maker. It's fun. I hope that snake lives.

Thanks Ethan, appreciate it. I always wanna use the knives more than just for food prep on these hikes, but a lot of people would freak out if I broke out the niner, haha. Or especially my clipped 2. :D I bought all kinds of equipment to do part of the River to River trail in the Shawnee National Forest that tradewater told me about, then the wife and I both lost our jobs and couldn't go. I was really looking forward to taking the blades and giving them a proper work out. I still have all the stuff though, and when we get rolling again, we're gonna go. We'll be at the Garden of the Gods area next week. My mom was nice enough to offer to takes us there for a night in a cabin, and go for a few hikes. Looking forward to it. Southern Illinois is a beautiful place.

Great pics! I caught a little hognose like that while biking I Southern Illinois about a week ago. Really cool snakes. I have a friend who breeds them and he says they are actually mildly venomous, but rear fanged so you rarely get any venom. Just a heads up in case you are allergic!

Thanks man. I knew they were toxic, but I didn't think the venom was harmful to humans. BTW, my son used to live in Benton.
