Carpenter

Bio blue would be cool, but I don't think its worth the extra price (assuming it is a pretty large price difference)

I think it would be worth the price, and it would maintain the original concept for the knife. See Sal's post above, "Carpenter wanted to have a special design made entirely of Steel made by Carpenter." Since we are talking the scales it would be fitting to use an alloy they designed for jewelry.

As much as I might desire the knife made for the Carpenter employees, their knives should be distinct. Perhaps by a some extra laser engraving on the scales or blade to set them apart from the knives made for sale. Perhaps engrave the specific alloy names on the scales and the blade or a special logo.

You know I never realized that Cartech steel could be used for knives? I always thought it went out into building materials and such but I guess I never really thought too hard about it.

Once you see the stuff up close, their manufacturing process, the sheer work put into their product; you gain a sense of pride and satisfaction. Also; it's a bit humbling.

I am excited to see this blade, for sure.

I wonder if there are any jobs going at carpenter;) I'm a mean floor sweeper.

This projects sounds interesting. I will strongly consider the purchase of one of these if/when they become generally available.

"jewelry grade steel" Can this be called steel with only .75% iron?

They call it a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy.

Looks interesting. Any pictures of the knife yet?

It's different and cool to see more of a swept tip/belly on a Spydie folder. Interested to see how this comes out.

Is the handle a single piece or two slabs?

Looks like a single piece of material to me, which would be super cool
