Carry options , Pocket , sheath , organizer , etc.. Need suggestions

I carry a man purse (with shoulder strap) when I carry my 8" tablet and I'll slip my cell phone and maybe a few odds and ends into it for the day. But I don't carry one every day. Mine is the Duluth one and is sort of an oiled canvas which I find attractive (and manly). The choice to carry my tablet defines the days that I might carry it. It often goes on jobs where I might need a way to accept credit cards (Square) for payment. It's mostly about keeping small stuff that I might use handy and where they don't get misplaced.

I would suggest you take a look at the various sizes of pocket organizers offered by Maxpedition. They have them from small to larger. Guess it depends on your style for the most part and how much you might carry. I don't like fanny pouches.

On trips, I'll keep a lot of the "necessary stuff" in a small 5.11 sling bag..... gun, flashlight, larger SAK, papers, etc. The tablet can go into this as well.

I'm hiding at my office to avoid the house full of kids my wife agreed to manage;) Hey, I have ONE super quiet daughter. That's all I signed on for;) As it's Christmas Eve Eve, I don't have anything to do here, so I have decided to make my own little front pocket wallet today inspired by this thread. I generally carry a bi-fold with card slots on the outside and inside and money clip on the inside in my back pocket. It works, but if i feel like pairing down to just the basics when the wife and I go out (credit card, Driver License, carry permit), then it is a bit overkill. My phone case has a few pockets built in, but I always hated the idea of putting all of my money and ID with the one tool that would help me should I lose said money/ID. So, I just keep a spare $20 in there for an emergency.

So, I just purchased my first CRK, and for whatever reason, I can't seem to make the pocket clip work correctly. I have dropped it on concrete/tile 3 times since I bought it a week ago . I never drop my knives and pocket clips never seem to misbehave on me. Of course, this is because this is the most expensive folder I own, and the universe has it out for me...probably for abandoning my wife to a bunch of sugared-up monsters hopped up on Santa fever;)

Anyway, this wallet I'm making is going to be MOSTLY to be full pocket width and house my Inkosi in my right front pocket. I went for a smooth matte black finish on the leather, but that means it will be too slick in my pocket to draw correctly. So, to add a bit of utility and make it grippier, I am stitching on a pocket on the backside that is rough-side out with the leather. Pocket sheaths I have made in the past behave well with a rougher texture like this. I have a little NAA revolver in my pocket that is riding in one as I type, and it draws like a dream. Anyway, this little back pocket will be a bit wider and looser than what you would find on a traditional wallet due to the weight of leather I am using. In theory (and I am waiting for the dye to dry before I stitch it up, it should house my three cards I mentioned as well as my Inkosi.

I'm a chronic junk-pocketer. I carry all manner of tools and knives and doo-dads if left to my own devices. I almost made this a double pocket wallet to stuff in a SAK or some such tool with the CRK, but I stopped myself. Minimal is minimal. Got my knife, got my ID, I can pay for whatever I want to buy, and I have my permit so I can carry my pistol. That should be enough.

I'll post a pic when it's done...unless it turns out hideous, then please disregard this rambling;)

I doubt this is the solution the OP is looking for, but I've solved this problem by wearing only pants with dedicated "knife pockets" located just behind the traditional hip pocket, like the Vertx Delta and Tru-Spec 24/7. However I don't use these type of pockets to carry my knives, but rather I find them ideal for securely carrying my multi-tool and flashlight. The Vertx Delta come in a variety of earth tones and wear much like jeans, while the Tru-Spec 24/7 wear like cargo/hiking pants, neither of which scream tactical if you wear them with regular casual attire. I wear the Vertx pretty much daily during the colder months, unless I'm hiking for which I prefer the Tru-Spec. I even had a local seamstress make some of the Tru-Spec into shorts for me (I prefer mine longer than the "Steve Irwin" length Tru-Spec offers), which I wear daily during the spring/summer. It sounds kinda crazy when I see it typed out like that, but I've never claimed sanity when it comes to these things ;). This system works well for me and I'm able to pull it off while remaining for the most part stylish when I want to.

These are the Vertx Delta. The Swisstool fits down in the pocket, I just pulled it out a bit for the picture. Theres another pocket just like that on the left, where I keep my flashlight.

I do also carry a sling bag daily, but that's more to carry EVERYTHING I might need, and because lets face it, most of us here just dig this kind of stuff. This pack goes with me when I leave the house and stays in my vehicle while I'm out.

I have some Carhart pant & shorts that have a Utility pocket - pefect for folder etc .. but most days it's regular Jeans or similar pant with regular size pockets .

I am not looking for excess " stuff " to carry - will probably order a couple of ooptions from H&T - See what works best - My key's are being kept company with , small sak , pry tool & light - not bad I'm going to refine that carry situation

I don’t think they had man purses back in 1692? The colonials didn’t know there true potential!
