I can't work anymore, thanks to CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and Fibromyalgia. But I AlWAYS carry my Microtech HALO III, black combo blade. It's usually in the MT belt pouch, horizontal. Occasionally, I use the multi-purpose Kydex sheath in one of the many variations possible, especially when I can't or don't wear a belt.
Usually, when I do get out, I take my Leatherman "Wave" too. To make it easier for me, I have several pouches and sheathes for both, so I'm not always threading and unthreading belts from the loops when I change from pants to shorts to jeans, etc.
I also always have my Star "PD" (and 3 to 5 back up mags, all filled w/ Federal 165 grain Personal Defense Hydra-Shoks) with me, and at night, my cut down lightened Carbon 15 with a 9 round mag of Hornady TAP ammo, and 2 20 round back up mags, 1 w/ TAP, 1 with M855/SS109.
What do I use most? The HALO III. Of all my knives, the HALO III can and does do ANYTHING almost as well as my Randall fixed blades, and is much more convenient. It gets used for one thing or another several times each day for one thing or another.
Boy Scout motto: "Be prepared".
Oh yeah; I HAVE needed all of these things at one time or another. So "being prepared" is not an abstract for me.
Oops! Heh, heh! Almost forgot. A keyring SAK. I thought I'd never use the tweezers and toothpick. Now I can't do without them.
